What is Breakdown Cover? 💥
Breakdown cover covers you in the event that your bike is immobilised or rendered unroadworthy as a result of a mechanical breakdown, accidental damage, vandalism, fire, theft or attempted theft, flat battery, or accidental damage to tyres.
Am I Covered? 🛡️
Breakdown cover is an additional extra (addon) that can be purchased alongside your main insurance policy with us. You can check whether you have breakdown cover by visiting the My Portal app and tapping on the 'addons' tab.

Adding breakdown cover to your policy is super easy, you just need to give our friendly 'addons team' a call on 0330 041 9418 📞
Please note, you are not covered for any incident which occurs during the first 48 hours of your initial purchase of this policy.
Types of Breakdown Cover? 💨
Different breakdown options are available including local roadside assistance, National, Homestart and European cover.
Bike Local Breakdown: This policy provides cover for breakdowns which occur more than a one-mile radius from your home address. It includes call outs and up to one hour’s assistance at the roadside, and if necessary, transportation of you and your motorcycle to the nearest suitable repairer (up to a maximum of 10 miles for a Round Trip).
Bike Local Breakdown & Home Start: This policy provides cover for breakdowns at your home address and the roadside. It includes call outs and up to one hour’s assistance, and if necessary, transportation of you and your motorcycle to the nearest suitable repairer (up to a maximum of 10 miles for a Round Trip).
Bike National Breakdown & Home Start: This policy provides cover for breakdowns at your home address and the roadside. It includes call outs and up to one hour’s assistance, and if necessary, transportation of you and your motorcycle to either the nearest suitable repairer, your home address or the original destination within the UK.
Bike European Breakdown: This policy provides cover for breakdowns at your home address and the roadside. Within the UK, it includes call outs and up to one hour’s assistance, and if necessary, transportation of you and your motorcycle to either the nearest suitable repairer, your home address or the original destination. Within the EU, if your motorcycle cannot be repaired at the roadside or at the nearest repairer by the time you are due to return home, we will pay the cost of transporting you and your passengers home. Your motorcycle will then be either returned to your home address or a repairer in the UK.

In the event of an incident, move your bike to a secure location, switch off the engine, turn on hazard lights, and ensure all riders and pillions are safe.
